Bill,
I am interested in your response to this. So, if you have the time, please feel free to just address the topic generally. You will be answering my question.
I handicapped 6 races on Friday at Hollywood. Picking two horses to win, I won four races. They were hypothetical bets, but successful, none the less. I entered pace figures I purchased from
www.speedfigures.com into RDSS based on the distance and level of race. Once I entered the projected pace, I picked the best "recent line" from the pp's that best represented this pace, based on the "coloring" RDSS does. In addition to the projected pace matching, I picked the line that had a favorable outcome (win), or what looked to be the best. If the pace was demonstrated, I would pick a 2nd place finish over a 9th place finish etc. I have been thinking about this. I am clearly overlooking the the way the race "matches up", Correct?. I am not taking in consideration whether I think a lone speed horse is going to win or a closer, based on a duel on the front end. I had some success with these figures this one day. Could you please put into words the pluses and negatives for this approach so I can wrap my brain around it. I work best when I throw my ideas out there and am challenged. Thanks in advance!!!
Respectfully Submitted,
John
