I base my bets on the ML and like everything else it has it's good points as well as bad ones.
In this particular race my pick opened up at 8-5. This in itself told me it was a "no bet" situation. Evidently, the smart money?? was on to this horse. It went off at 2-5.
The win pool was about $5900.00. So any big bets or action drops the price of the horse significantly. The smaller tracks have smaller pools that in many instances, just like this one, are controlled by the smart money?? or betting groups.
It is similar to what the institutional traders do on the stock exchange.
The small guy usually gets screwed.
In order to win at this game you have to look at the numbers and pick your spots.
