Just search for hotels around Albany airport, including Wolf Road area. The Desmond is nice (nice bar, nice bar denizens - at least last year
). Mum and I (and Mick) stayed at a place (name escapes me) a few blocks away.
You'd need a car, or car pool to Saratoga Springs up the Interstate ~30 minutes.
Saratoga area itself is
quite expensive ...
