Using RDSS on some Non-North American, Non-UK Windows configurations

Question: I am in Germany and RDSS produces an error message during the Data Centre Convert Task, saying it cannot process a currency in the format of $999.99 (for example). Also, the dates in the Data Centre are incorrect.

Answer: RDSS requires North American (or UK/Ireland) settings for dates and numeric and currency formats. Some countries represent currency as (for example) 999,99$ where RDSS expects $999.99. Also, RDSS requires dates to be mm/dd/yyyy format (month/day/year), rather than dd/mm/yyyy format (day/month/year).

If you live outside North America, check your dates format by going to Windows Settings / Time & Language (or Regional Settings, depending on Windows version) / click Region on the sidebar, then change your Region to United States. OR, for your own Region, click the Change data formats link then change the Short Date Format to mm/dd/yyyy.

Check your currency format from the Region settings page by clicking on an Additional Settings button or link then make sure that the dollars/cents separator is a period (.) and not a comma (,). Any other currency format settings should show that currency is represented only as (example) $123,456.00 and NOT 123.456,00$. After making any changes, click the Save button.

Restart RDSS if you need to. If the Data Centre dates were incorrect, check they are now correct.

If you converted a race card previously but got the currency format error message described first above, in the Data Centre, UNCHECK the Don't Duplicate box to FORCE RDSS to re-convert the race with the new Windows currency format settings. Better yet, create a NEW clean database, re-start RDSS and re-convert the problem card into the clean database.

If you previously Assembled any races for the problem card, on the Card Summary screen, click the Clear Cache button then re-assemble a race or all races.

(Remember - when done with all the foregoing troubleshooting, return the Don't Duplicate box setting in the Data Centre Tasks section to CHECKED).

This resolves problems typical of Windows configurations at least in Germany, but surely also with some other European or regions outside of North America (not sure if the currency problem applies to the UK/Ireland).
