I do something slightly different. My program generates a file for the top 4 finishers in each race, indicating the lengths behind at the first two calls. I think you would benefit from adding the positions. Possibly big time man.
It gives you more of a "visual" and with you "watching" lots of replays etc seems like a perfect fit with how you find your bets.
