2023 - Kentucky Derby

Glad you found it useful.
I did not play the Kentucky Derby, I usually do poorly in Grade 1 races, and I have little to no experience handicapping Churchill Downs, but after the race, when I looked at my contenders to see how they did, I noticed something about the Pace Vector F3's.
Ranked in order of who over came the 3rd fraction of their last race the best, I show the top 5 in order as:
8 Mage
14 Angel
1 Hit Sh
3 Two Ph
22 Mandar
The top 4 horses on this list were 4 of the top 5 finishers in the Derby. The 5th, Mandarin Hero's comment says he was bumped hard, don't know if that played a role in his bad finish or not.
Like I said, I do not normally handicap 10f races or Churchill Downs races, so I do not know if this is normal, but it seems like a strong indication that the F3 Pace Vector was something to consider.
