Dick,

When you play AVI files, is it actually VLC which is used, by Windows, to play those files? If Windows' file association for AVI files is not VLCPlayer, Windows will invoke whatever program IS associated instead, by default Windows Media Player.

However, WMPand VLC both seem to work out of the box on AVI files, for me.

Are there OTHER AVI format files you have which VLC DOES open and display video for?

Ted
