here is race 7. interesting to me becuse there are 2 horses stronger than the favorite. i like the fact that the 3 horses are coming from 3 different distances. might not make sense but some decent prices can come from this scenario

Forego,
You may want to consider using five horses with Validator, even if you don't really think the last couple you've entered have much of a shot to win. Why? Because any other number than five (six with ties) nullifies the value of the BAL readout, which is one of the strongest aspects of the BL/BL screen. For example, the "4" BAL for the above race is meaningless. On the other hand, if you'd entered five horses and they all showed a "5" then the race would be wide open and you could consider Tier 5 for a win bet. That's just one use of the BAL readout. Much more is in the archives. This isn't fact, but I've seen enough races with Validator to know that entering three horses produces less than optimal readouts. At least that's my take on it. |

thanx Alydar for the advice. after reading about the changes and hearing advice from Bill ( about the two changes that have affected readouts in a significant way) I decided on my own to ignore anything to do with total energy involving readouts under the assumption that what i am seeing might be "doctored" up.
Reading that balance is including readouts that are weighted with total energy completely eliminates this readout from any meaning in my mind. I am having very good results from this program and am entering only horses that i feel have a shot to win. sometimes 3,4,5. Every race is different at least to me. Today's results were race 2,the 3rd ranked horse went from 10/1 on morning line to 7/2 at 3 minutes to post. certainly not my definition of a longshot. the winner was the 4th ranked 3 horse who moved to validator ranked tied for first. on the graph screen he had totally opposite running style of the others who had very long long lines on the early side. he paid 13.60. Bill told me to watch for these type horses. race7 was won by the third ranked 9 horse at 2/1. again not my idea of a longshot. i wont say whether i bet each race or whom i bet because i did not say so before the race runs. i like this validator very very much. You know something, you may be completely right about the "doctoring up" making Validator's BAL readouts unreliable.
It certainly seems like you're doing well handicapping your way. Can't argue with success! |
