I am going to state at the outset that I know nothing about Mac computers. In a previous life I was responsible for the computers because I knew what a computer was. If the computer starts it can probably be fixed. Take it too a Mac shop and find out. If it cannot be fixed maybe you can trade it in for a new one. if that is not possible refurbished or open box.
