I don't know what a nextbook is, but I will try to help :

MOUNT "Emulated Drive letter" "Real Drive or Directory" [-t type]

Program to mount local directories as drives inside DOSBox.

"Emulated Drive letter"
The driveletter inside DOSBox (for example C).

"Real Drive letter (usually for CD-ROMs in Windows) or Directory"
The local directory you want accessible inside DOSBox.

-t type
Type of the mounted directory.
Supported are: dir (default), floppy, cdrom.

Basically MOUNT allows you to connect real hardware to DOSBox's emulated PC.
So MOUNT C C:\GAMES tells DOSBox to use your C:\GAMES directory as drive C:
in DOSBox. MOUNT C E:\SomeFolder tells DOSBox to use your E:\SomeFolder
directory as drive C: in DOSBox.

Mounting your entire C drive with MOUNT C C:\ is NOT recommended!

Thank you Dan,
No matter what I do it says directory does not exist
Mount c c:\oldsartin
But there is a file with that name.
I have used dosbox with several other computers (that no longer are around) without any problems. But this Win 10 is a mystery to me.

A nextbook is a low cost tablet with a detachable keyboard.

Did you 1) try unning the program as administrator? 2) did you try to run in Compatibility Mode for an earlier version of Windows?

Thanks guys . for your input

Don't have an earlier version of windows.
Only get to the Internet from the library or grocery store.
Will have to settle for what I have.

I saw this online, I don't have Windows 10, so I can't verify if the 32 bit version works or not with 16 bit software, like most of the old Sartin programs.

16-bit Software

16-bit programs no longer function on 64-bit versions of Windows. The 64-bit version of Windows just doesn’t contain the WOW16 compatibility layer that allows 16-bit apps to function. Try to run a 16-bit application on a 64-bit version of Windows and you’ll just see a “This app can’t run on your PC” message.

if you do want to run 16-bit applications, you’ll need to install the 32-bit version of Windows 10 instead of the 64-bit version. But you don’t really have to reinstall your entire operating system — instead, you can just install a 32-bit version of Windows inside a virtual machine and run the application there. Or, you can even install Windows 3.1 in DOSBox.

Dan,
A nextbook is 32 bit.
The geek said to install 3.1 in your dosbox to get things to run.
How and where does one get 3.1?
