Bill,Thanks for posting it.I had a nice talk yesterday with Pino and he knows I have been all over the place with the way I look at a race.He suggested just try doing one track with races I like [claiming sprints] with nothing but the racing form to come up with just contenders I used Brohamers technique for getting rateable pacelines and used some various angles I know of.I did the Big A and only the 1st and 9th and picked both winners at 5-1.I will continue doing this until my confidence hopefully regains and then go back to a computer program.Jeff

Jeff, I know that feeling! It's usually the result of a series of races not turning out the way you've expected them to, hence the search for other modus operandi.

I've found when faced with an losing streak, it's best to take time off--COMPLETELY--from all racing-related activities, and that includes studying.

After your "freshening," it's best to review the fundamentals; then review past races with your chosen modus operandi; then IN REAL TIME, with play money, i.e. handicap the race(s) but do not place an actual wager.

Yeah, I know, I've 'won' more than a few of those races and figuratively kicked myself for not having placed an actual wager. But heck, that's horse racing. Who am I to argue with the Pari-Mutuel Gods?
