AQU December 7
First race...
A starter race for horses that raced for 10K or less in 2006-08. Not my area of expertise, but I will have to play at least just the 3 horse given his 15/1 ML odds and high rankings. Maybe I'll back him up with the 2 horse who has some early zip and managed a respectable fourth out of twelve in a 15K race last out after winning the two prior. Was claimed in his last, which I've found to be historically important as we enter the long inner dirt period. |

I really tried to make a case for the 8, but couldn't see him as better than 3rd or 4th.
The second race is a real puzzler. A mass of horses stretching out, and my top BL pick, the 7, comes from way back. It is however the router in the field. |

Professor Z had the EP score of the field, but I ended up shying away from the race given the prices and the overabundance of sprinters.
The third is similar in its setup, but my top two at least have decent prices. That would be the 2 and the 3, but chances are that I'll just go with the 2. |

Fifth race
This race is really contentious, boiling it down to six has me able to make a case for each. Shades of Oscar Barrera - what's really puzzling me is the 12 horse back on three days rest after a nice score (a "big win") on the inner dirt. The animal has a history of pretty much running once a month, except for April when it ran twice, both of them on the board. I'll split the bet on the 7 and the 2 however, like the odds. EDITED TO ADD: Sometimes you have to go with your hunches, the 12 won. Last edited by clore1030; 12-07-2008 at 02:13 PM. Reason: addition |

Seventh race
The 4 hasn't been out in half-a-year, but has very nice works. Otherwise, the rest of the field are fairly well-matched, I think I'll just play the 4 and that's it. |

Eighth race...
Not crazy about this field, off-turfers, sprinters stretching out... I may go with the 4 if the odds don't sink below 3/1. EDITED TO ADD: Odds have sunk to 2/1, passing. Last edited by clore1030; 12-07-2008 at 03:18 PM. |
