The Place To Be

Justify, I have to give you so much credit. I had big doubts but you are an immortal now.

My bankroll has been hemorrhaged because of all the medical bills and then trying to do too much too soon

I have to start all over again from square 1

Today I bet very conservatively, I showed a decent return

Thank You for Racing - You never let me down very long.

Well done Bill. You are doing better than I am today that's for sure!
And also anyone who kept the faith in the Belmont.

OK, I've backed number 1 Proven Reserves in the last at Belmont which should put me even on the day if it wins.

I didn't really want to bet on Justify, but had no good reason to drop him.
Was a fun day doing Belmont. Nice to see the weather good, and the stands full. I have a tradition of winning the Woodford Reserve, (Manhattan Stakes), the 13 was my #2 for the dutch, and in the Metropolitan, I had the 1 and the 10.

Hello to all:
It may not mean much but I spoke earlier on this same forum to state that Justify is the best 3 year old running. If my memory serves me right I believe it was Mitch who wrote back to my original post on Justify winning the Triple Crown that a lot had yet to be proven by the horse. Well I bet him big in the Kentucky Derby, The Preakness, and again today in the Belmont. This horse is the best 3 year old in the country. He weighs that of a 5 year old (1,300 lbs) his physical heart is 1 1/2 the size of a normal 3 year old horse and the Vet says his lungs are much larger as well. All of this adds up to a enormous size horse who in factual terms is a freak by nature. He will hopefully run in the Traverse Stakes where I am hoping I can get minimum odds of 4/5 and on to the Breeder s Cup Classic where maybe he will go off at even money.
I don't post much here because I strictly play the Southern California circuit and there are very few post on horses running out there. I have been using the Sartin Methodology or over 20 years and thanks to both Ted, Richie, and my good friend Chris Descalos here in the Twin Cities, I have been very successful sticking to one circuit and cashing tickets.

I am happy to see that Justify won and again will say he is the best 3 year old running today. And if you don't believe me bet against him in his next two starts and be prepared to throw away your losing tickets!

Dap Daddi:

You were correct and after yesterdays race I'll have to give Justify his just dues. As I said before the Derby, its a long way from now to the BC so we'll see. I don't believe in going into something with preconceived notions. Perhaps others will catch up and perhaps they won't. That foreign ran a big race for first time on dirt and up in class. Than again lets wait and see if he becomes horse of the year and wins the BC. Just saying.
Justify is a freak and one hell of a horse and his taking of the TC will place in racing history where he now belongs. Great pick Dap Daddi.

Slow fractions, slow race

Justify may indeed be a special horse and with yesterday's victory, he certainly becomes one of racing's immortals, as Bill V. said. Looking at the results chart this morning and specifically, the fractional and final times, however, I am struck by how SLOW the race was run.

I was at a party last night, watching with friends, and when the 6f time flashed on the screen at 1:13.21 and Justify had an unpressured 2-length lead, I told everyone that the race was over. That's just a breezing workout pace. And of course, the final time was glacial at 2:28.18.

In fairness to Justify and Mike Smith, nobody came after them and they did all they needed to do to win comfortably. Also, Justify was a late foal and is still a growing youngster. I hope we get to see him race at least two more times before he's off to the breeding shed. I would love to see him run against Good Magic again, although that probably won't happen.

I would personally love to see him run against Audible.

Audible would have been a serious threat in the Preakness and the Belmont.
