Just been looking at all the different approaches to the contest submittals. It seems like a fill-in FORM could be used in future contests to make the entries more uniform and easier for the contest manager to review. Just a thought!

Today, almost everyone is playing the 3 mandatory races -- most days would have a "player's choice" mix to it. I would be interested in hearing your ideas though.

Contest Form
Jay:
My thought on the format for a fill-in form would be that there be a section of the form for a required race filling in the information for that race, including the track race number and the type of wager. The wager fill-in box would show Win, Place, or Exacta wager amount, and a place for the horse name(s) and number(s). In a separate area, the contestant would put in any optional play(s) with the same designations, i.e. race track, race number, horse name and number, and a box for the type of bet, and a fill-in for the amount(s). An easy approach would be to have the master form on the web site and capable of being filled in by a contestant, and then submitted to the web site by computer. It would seem to save time, both in the submittal process, and in the review process By the way, I was wondering why the required pre-derby races were being termed as "mandatory" when only submittals for 10 of the 15 races were necessary to be made. It would seem like a maximum of 5 of these races could be passed. |
