Goodness, what a lousy card. I'm beginning to think the post-time was made later because they figured that nobody was going to rush to the track with a card such as this one.
I'm almost praying for rain with regard to the first race as the 4 horse looks as if it could wire a dirt heat, but it's an unknown on the turf. All I have is the Trackmaster data in RDSS, so I have no handle on the barn's surface switching or even sire/dam info that I could use to speculate with. The 8 horse showed a complete reverse in running style in its last race - its first on the turf. Formerly an early type on dirt, the horse came from the clouds to get third in a three way photo last out. Taking a jump in class off that from 35 to 60K, but I can remember when John Henry made his turf debut in a 35K claimer. The 6 horse, my other contender, also has only one turfer in its PPs. But it has already dropped from stakes races to claiming without getting top money. In a new barn now, that may make a difference. As you can probably tell, I'm indecisive about this contest. |

Stay out And that's what I did. The pace was actually faster than I expected, I was basing it on Exchanging Kisses last out, but I didn't expect it to go past 6F. That was about the only part of my prognostication that came true. |

Third race
I'd toss out the favorite if I could crunch some data. Can't fault its record, but if a gun were held to my head, I'd sooner play the 6 anyway. I may just end up passing on the whole card. |

I honestly don't see a race other than the eighth that I find worth playing. The 2 comes in on top, but I'm wondering if the 7 can steal it on the front end.
Probably play both if the odds allow it. |
