PPs from clockwise races

Two horses that ran in a wrong way race on June 10 at Woodbine were entered in the 9th at Woodbine on June 25, program numbers 1 and 7. The June 10 race was 5f on the turf. The pace line from that race for each horse showed no 2nd call time and no RDSS values for PoH, PoR, or Percept Total. If you did a pace line selection strategy using Last Line, the second last line was selected for each horse.

There have been issues all season long with the timing of Turf races at Woodbine. Have a look at the onscreen times (when they actually post them onscreen) and compare them with the charts.

It makes one a little uneasy when using previous Turf lines, there were no times posted today in the second race, just lovely. I would be willing to wager they are hand timing the races off the video after the fact.

If you watch the live video at the Woodbine web site, below the video you will see posts by Jeff Bratt with hand timed corrections to the posted Trakus times as the day goes on.

That's comforting, it's 2016, you would think by now that they could actually time a horse race properly. Hand times FFS!

Just bet DaSilva on the Turf and you will be just fine...

And why can't they get any time, Trakus or hand timed, live or off the replay, on a 5f turf race? You would think that trying out weird stuff like wrong way races, they would take a little extra effort until they were sure they had the bugs worked out.

Nothing weird about clockwise racing, it’s standard practise in Europe, they are trying to attract shippers from Europe as well as utilizing the best Turf course in North America.

I have a feeling that there are no sensors on the Turf course, therefore Trakus is useless. Woodbine does a lot of things right, but the timing in Turf races drives me nuts, time to fire off another email.

As well, Disco Stu needs to lighten up on the Maidens and FTS’ in the P4 races, his predecessor was kind enough to put them in the first 3 races.

Woodbine has gone out of its way to become next to worthless.
Used to be my #1 track - wouldn't even watch a race there anymore, let alone bet on one.

Last year’s Queen’s Plate winning jockey Rafael Hernandez is moving his tack full time to Woodbine. Hernandez has hired Anthony Esposito as his agent, the same agent who landed Luis Contreras and turned him into one of the country’s top riders. Hernandez joins Alan Garcia under Esposito’s agency, and is a very welcome addition to the Woodbine colony.

Hernandez arrives Wednesday, and has the mount on longshot Cheburashka in the Queen’s Plate.
