Winx
Tvg reported that Winx will attempt to extend her win streak to 26 on August 18, 2018 at Randwick in what was known as the The Warwick, now named The Winx in her honor. Apart from looking forward to watching this race, I am also wondering if any horse has won a race named after them. Anyone here that can answer this bit of trivia?

Not sure about that last query, but I've watched 7 or 8 of her most recent races and will be eager to see her race again! Thanks for the heads up!
Her 25th! Ted

I have no knowledge of a horse winning a stakes named for himself. However, in 1988, Risen Star won the Louisiana Derby Trial at the Fairgrounds. The next year the race was renamed the Risen Star stakes. So the record books show Risen Star winning the Risen Star Stakes even though technically it is not true.
