RDSS Problem Accessing TrackMaster

Please be aware that at this time, RDSS is experiencing a problem accessing any data from TrackMaster. I have spoken to TrackMaster personnel and made them aware of this, and I am working with their techical manager IT manager to identify what is the problem.

I'll report back here when I know more and when the problem is resolved.

Very sorry for this interruption ...

Ted

Thanks Ted. Just called them because I thought there was a problem with my account which there was not. Glad to hear you are working on it. Thanks.

Folks, I have identified the problem and it has to do with a 'seemingly' minor change to how TrackMaster produces the internal webpage from which RDSS retrieves the current list of available cards.

Sometime in the past few hours, this change occurred on ther TrackMaster internal file site and RDSS can no longer properly 'pull-apart' (parse) the webpage to understand which cards are available.

I identified exactly what the change was to TrackMaster tech support, and thus what had to be reinstated as it formerly was. Also clarified the urgency of this to Jim Vanderbosch, my main man there and he's on it.

Really hope this gets resolved shortly I'll be staying on top of this for a while. Good thing those folks are on the west coast!

More news as it breaks ...

Ted

Folks, it's possible it could take until sometime tomorrow to resolve this. I'll be around for about another hour in case TrackMaster IT guys get back to me tonight.

Otherwise, I'll keep monitoring this and keep on top of TrackMaster as soon as their day starts on the West Coast tomorrow.

Again, very sorry for this outage

Ted

Yes, I got an email from Doug the TrackMaster IT head around 1am my time reporting both the fix and the explanation - thanks Doug and Jim for being on that.

Data flow from TrackMaster is now back in business.

Turns out that their (commendable) attempt at optimizing their website overall had an unintended consequence of breaking my HTML web page parser to get the current file listing. That 'optimization' is now turned off for the specific RDSS file listing. Doug made a few suggestions which will help me for the upcoming RDSS 2.1.

Again, very sorry for this (thankfully brief) outage. Back to our previously scheduled programming ...

Ted
