We get about 4 of 5 of these bogus 'Registration' per week and I try to delete them as soon as I can. My favourites are from Beijing, Kamchatka, Latvia and Ukraine - those hotbeds of horse-racing interest. Not sure how they were able to make a Private Message Post, as that's not supposed to be allowed. (They probably know vBulletin better than I do...)

If the message sender doesn't look like a person, just Delete it. According to Wikipedia, the idea of such Spam posts is that you click through to some link which either gets you in trouble, or builds up Search Engine connections which benefits the spammer's website, e.g. in Google Search Rank.

Time to post more soldiers at the door...

Ted

I deleted that member, it re-registered, I deleted it again just now (I guess not soon enough...). I have blocked it based on an email address fragment, but it's tough when the email address is Gmail or Yahoo.

Please let us know if this happens again and I'll see if there are any tricks to combat this further.

I feel left out. No PM. My wife had PMS several years ago does that count?

I love the e-mail I get from Nigeria, Mumbabwe (sp), and others needing help in cashing their cashiers checks or receiving money from the national treasury.
