Val 4
Hi Ramon
Which past performance data you did you use to enter into Valm ? I have never seen such close readouts to all the contenders These number look adjusted. 8 horses with a hi lo total energy difference of only .94!!! Here are your lines in Val 4 Thanks Bill |

Hi Bill ! Just using Bris PP, but when hand entering and the horse is from another track you enter 3yr. best from that track, the program right then and there will make adjustments, then there are adjustments made to equalize the lines to todays distance. I know that Valm will do things a little different than Val3-4. I have done races where the difference in lines is very close like these.

valm
Hi Ramon
I see, I have some questions. Do the pp's your using use the drf speed rating and track varient.? Have you entered the 3 year best times for each track .? When you enter the time is it the three year best or the track record? thanks Bill |

Bris has their own speed ratings,I almost never enter a track varient,I let Valm take care of that. And yes I use a 3yr.best and not a track record. But I will say that my numbers are not like anyone elses. I have made my own adjustments to the 3yr. best numbers and they work for me.

hi Ramon
So when you hand enter the pace line and it was from Pimlico you just enter the Bris speed rating,? What do you enter for the DTV ? 0 for all the horses ? Then when you enter a line for a horse that did not run at Pimlico at the prompt when you enter the speed rating and it asks if the race was from the host track y-n if you hit no then you just enter the 3 year best from that track? again do you just enter 0 for the DTV ? Thanks Bill |

I could enter a speed rating but I don't. I let Valm do it. I don't enter anything and it makes one up.For the DTV I just hit enter and Valm does the rest.Yes if a horse is from a track other than the one I'm working I just hit enter and at the prompt I enter the 3 yr. best and again when the DTV comes up I hit enter and Valm does the rest. Also my three year best is the slowest time I can find in the DRF 3yr. Best going back to 2003. So the numbers I use are not anything you will find in any one place.I have a loose leaf book that I use when I figure a race and all the info. I have collected over the years is in this book.I also made up charts to instantly find the internal fractions of a race at most distances. So when I do a race alot of the information I use is only to be found in my book.Nothing like letting the cat outa' the bag !Also when I pick a paceline its not always the fasest line. I look for a line thats honest and fits todays race and what the horse has done in the past. Unusally fast lines are not used.

My take on the Pim Spcl and beyond
I like Carve to hold off Revolutionary. I expect the track to be very off, and if Major King jumps up and wins- he does like it wet and it will be very wet- then just rip up those tickets "gangnam style"( Korean bred horse). Hope your doing ok because i heard about those brush fires on the news. I'll know more about the preakness once i see what the weather does, but after looking at the pp's I would not be shocked if California Chrome did not hit the board!!! Later, Omar.
