Just a reminder to be sure the actual wagercapping procedure laid out by Doc in addition to the wonderful articles by Capper linked by Viking in post 59 above.

I used the new version of RDSS today and it is much faster I didn't have any non-responsive issues or crashes. I didn't see how to link to TwinSpires though. And if anyone is interested, TS is randomly giving $500 ten minutes before every Breeder's Cup race. I know there are a lot of unknowns in these races, but I had a win bet today for a little over $30 .

I didn't see the update to Track Odds and Mutuel Prices. So I go back and forth between RDSS and TS. Today's Race Dates showed up under Future. Thanks for the update and all the tips.

Kisha, briefly - go to the Config screen and check the Tote and TS Ratings boxes. They're set to OFF by default. That way, you'll get all the missing goodies from TwinSpires

Congrats today, and even better luck tomorrow!

Thanks Ted, I am so excited to see the tote board info. It appears sometimes and it is a welcome improvement. The scratches are pulled in and THAT is great. After refreshing the TS Ratings and scratches, the other screens are updated.

I reread some follow ups last night (and today). I need to change my mindset and become more disciplined. I was using the BL screen wrong. I was using it as a ranking system and NOT as a tier level

Would you say more about hiding or link me to the follow ups that go into more detail? It was said "do not accept a short price on a favorite". Does this mean the favorite as defined by the public, the BL or both? Would I hide that short price favorite? Is reassembling the only way to unhide a horse?

I will keep practicing.

Hi Kisha. Just keep in mind that if you decide to hide a low odds fav that is only for win. If you are going to play exs or tris you need to keep that horse in mind. I would recommend to move he horse to the ITM horses so you won't forget about it. I think those articles about hiding start in follow up 75. Good luck.

The one place I disagree with Sartin and I have stated this in the past, is in wagercapping. Perhaps if about today he may rethink that process.

One fault of the procedure is a lazy way of handicapping which takes the handicapper away from doing their best, and that is to train the mind to pick winners which are the springboard to all win wagers. We need to always be determining who the best horse is, than design a bet to capitalize on your analysis.

Back in the day all these rolling DD and other bets weren't available. I think he would have adapted, I do know "The Hat" Bradshaw loved them.

Here's an example of Monomoy Girl in the 10th today at Kee. BC. She only paid $4.00 but triggered a nice EX, worth $ 42.60. Hide her? No way!!

Layoffs - Days or Last?

Hello Everyone,

I figured I'd post one more time before the end of the year I'm still using the software . To pick my contenders, I started with the Entries screen and looked at CR and APV. Then I made my way to the BL/BL screen {before I knew there were tiers and not ranks}. While searching for the definition of O.T.E, I was led to the Rx screen where I now sort based on BPP and PL. I also came across (or came back to) information about the fulcrum. The fulcrum search led me to Jim's 5-Step approach to the Match-Up. So now as a part of my analysis, I sort the horses based on running style. I did notice though for some horses, no RS is in RDSS.

I tried to follow the PIP because I wanted a better way to track my wagers. TwinSpires and TVG don't export any detailed information about wagers If someone knows how to automatically get that information, please let me know. I took snapshots of my data and will have to manually input it in Excel. Since I wasn't able to recreate the PIP that I found in a Follow Up (or maybe it was a manual), I created my own form that works for me.

I'm using the Paceline Tools more. I use line and Best Perceptor. Why is the layoff Column header Last and not Days? I noticed that the Last doesn't match the selected paceline. Might a future update have the layoff number match the selected line number?

Have a Happy and Healthy Christmas everyone and a prosperous New Year!
