Sometimes its there - no matter what & you just have to believe it!

Here is an unbelieveable race outcome from Turf Paradise on Friday afternoon.

I handicapped as per normal going from pace setter on back and rated each horse. I made early eliminations based on the matchup and came down to 5 or 6 horses and checked the BL screen. The six came up, but visually I did not like him. So I rechecked the line that I used and substituted another, and another and another. It did not matter RDSS wanted this horse to win, so i decided that even though I still didn't really like him I would put a medium size across the board bet on him, strictly because of the odds.

The rest of the story. I've been having computer problems with mouse sticking and I couldn't unstick the mouse. The result was that I missed this monster and the exacta.

The screen shots show the best turf race for each horse and then I reduced contenders based on matchup, eliminating a lot of other early horses. I used all five of the turf lines for the 6. The E/L screen shows that the field except for the winner was very early, with hardly any double-digit negative E/L's.

The segments screen shows the 6 in first, second, third, fourth, and sixth.

The first BL screen shows the 6 in 1-2-5-6-7 places. Then I took out the worst three of the lines for the 6 in the next screen shot. Lastly the chart and prices.

The last three screen shots.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

P.S. The rest of the card was just fine and helped makeup for this temporary computer glitch.

Bill..

turf racing, in general, will most often be won by a late energy horse..

look at those 2 races you entered and you'll see hes 1st and 2nd...

the only thing you need to know if the pace will be there...

you have speed in the 2 and also the 10...with speed from outside posts your guaranteed to get a fast pace on any surface..

next time

Bill,

I'm sending you by Fedex from Canada to Hawaii a new mouse. Just send 10% of your next few hits like this...

Ted

Thanks Ted, but I don't think its the mouse. I seem to have some kind of continuity problem that the local computer jocks can't recognize. Like in the middle of typing this the key strokes were not showing up on the screen. I think its something in the motherboard, but what do I know. I just keep taking it back and let them work on it until they get it right.

Next race please.....

Thanks for the thought - Canadian mice, OH MY!!!! probably get kicked out of the garden for importing those little suckers,,,,,

I was so caught up in the matchup that I was protecting against have some Martian run down my other horses, until I looked at total energy and saw that the winner's first three lines had more TE than anyone else. Then I started thinking bet!

In doing the match-up I don't usually consider post position, I will definitely remember this quote.

Thanks for shining a little more light on my 'capping.

The outside makes a lot of difference. I don't know if you include jockeys in your handicapping, but it appears to be easier to ride from the outside. I once saw a major oh-fer (zero for like 675 or so) jockey win from the outside by just staying clear.
