Results OP #6

Hi Tim,
This is an oversight of mine for not knowing yet how to choose a paceline for a race like this, most of these horses are 4+ years old and ran many, many days ago... how can I get a correct Fulcrum, still use the last line? As Bill V. pointed out, but not official, that we use an Entry 1 & 1A for the Matchup.

Thanks.

Bill,

Hat did say that. In retrospect, you're right. My reasoning at the time was:

Last Race; Sprint off L/O; I forgave this race.
Race before: Close against a 22.7 in a one turn mile; I forgave that one too.
Third back: Was second against a 46.3.

Too me, he looked like he could run against a 23.1 which he had 5 back. It also looked like the 5 could handle a 23.1.

Two mistakes here:

Sometimes I forgive too many subpar efforts. And, I didn't look at the break positions. For the 3, it was 7,3,3,1,5 in the last 5 whereas for the 5, it was 2,3,3,2,2,1,2 in the last 6. Based on that, the 5 was going to get the lead.

Thanks for the question. It allowed me to revisit this and learn something about what I did wrong in this race.

Tim
