Shoutout to Pook!

Just a word of thanks to Pook for the redesign of the PaceandCap masthead logo in honour of our departing founder, Bill Varone.

Hanging up his hat, just like previous 'Hat-bearers' we have honoured.

We'll keep this up for a while. It helps me remember my friend, giving him a parting salute.

Ted

Touche!!

I will miss his regular postings on this website. Bill Varone was the "heart and soul" of this board. It is unbelievable to see a man, overcome his prior shell of person in despair but with unrelenting desires to achieve success in this field of endeavor.

He struck a great and lifelong friendship with Richie P by chance at the racetrack and his evolution from his introduction to the Sartin Methodology to the person that he was today; was truly amazing!! Bill V became an unselfish teacher with his time and his energy carrying on the teachings of the Sartin Methodology with this website and his persistent postings (10,005 posts to be exact!!)

I never met Bill Varone in person. I now wish that I had. I always wanted to drive down to the Del Mar satellite center and to introduce myself the man who shared so much passions to teach the next generations of "Sartinees" the tenets of the Sartin Methodology.

I always marveled how Bill Varone would open old Sartin programs with ease and professionalism. I enjoyed how Bill V used Entropy to narrow down the true contenders of a race and then run the final contenders into Thormation. I enjoyed his explanations and recaps like if I was reading one of the Follow Ups by Sartin.

Onward to the final screen of Thoromation where it shows Bill Varone with Howard Sartin and Jim Bradsaw. The titans of the Sartin Methodology. May the everlasting flame torch be carried forward.

Good skills and good bye Bill Varone.......A final tip of the "hat"
