Haven't looked at the pp's yet, but in the derby who is the only other horse to partake in the early 45, 1:10 fractions?
Gun Runner! Don't forget him. Not sure how he came out of the derby though??

I don't think Gun Runner is fast enough. I rather take a shot with Pletcher ( Stradivari ) and Baffort's ( Collected ) & Uncle Lino box them all with the next triple crown winner Nyquist.
The horse is pretty impressive !!! Not there yet, but I never believed the hype on A. P. Either. Being half polish I forgave myself!

Gun Runner

Gun Runner ran a tremendous race in the Derby. With the exception of Nyquist he was the only member of the early speed brigade that was around of at the finish. He should get a ton out of that race.
He needs to run as an SP as he did previously in his Risen Star win and not move so early. He moved up and passed Nyquist and was in front turning for home. I don't know what the pace will be in the Preakness, but I doubt it will be what was set by that speedball Danzing Candy.
He is bred to run all day and would not be surprised to see a switch to turf later in the year.
I would think he will be much better late against a slower 1st fraction or being reserved off a pace similar to the Derby's.
Very nice horse!!

Qualified again for this 50k on Preakness day.
I'll have a tough decision in the preakness. I like Nyquist, i didn't like him in the derby but i think he may just be the best 3 year old and win for fun. However, i think when it comes to finding value and contest play, Nyquist will be a toss. Looking forward to seeing how you guys analyze this race as it gets closer and see if we can find some value!

If Nyquist is healthy and gets a trip I think he'll be hard to beat.
pace will be as fast or possibly faster with sharp Azteca in the race, and we'er going 330ft shorter. From my quick look at the pp's I think we could have 8 horses at the wire. Who to eliminate???

Latest entries do not include Sharp Azteca! I liked him as well, but not there anymore?

That's to bad Azteca is out. Not sure he had the class, but thought he could really impact the pace.
Is there another horse that could be the rabbit?
A think a lot of fast horses can only run fast, they cannot run slow and then fast(dancing candy) i think what makes Nyquist so good is he is totally unaffected by pace. Just thinking out load.
I just noticed that Gun Runner is also out. the derby took it's toll!!
