Thanks for the head-up Charlie!. Gotta love that bling - and Mum and I will be there on Monday too

Just updating things: for Friday August 17, Charlie managed to get us some nice round tables in the FourStarDave restaurant, near the Carousel on the ground floor grandstand side. So we have enough for about 15 people the Friday and Saturday and about enough for 10 people on Sunday.

On Friday, we'll meet in the FourStarDave restaurant, Saturday and Sunday in the Festival Tent, same as previous years.

Here's an update on attendance so far. If anyone else thinks they might be coming, it looks like we have about 3 or 4 more seats on Friday and Saturday. Sunday usually is a bit thinner attendance which is why we traditionally only get 2 tables. Please post your attendance plans here if you haven't done so already, or email or PM me. If it turns out you cannot attend after all, please also let me know - just for a head count, thanks!

We'll also get together Friday evening at the NHPLAY offices downtown for our traditional handicapping of Saturday and learning/sharing session.

Attendance:

Probably/certainly:
Mick
Jeebs/Tim
mowens/Mike
gandalf/Charlie
Lt1/Tim
Ted C
Barb C
MikeSal
rdiam/Richard D +1
Bill V
RichieP (and Karen)

Maybe:
Pook

Per day seat at the table is $20 to cover table costs, which includes General Admission. We'll have to make some arrangement for folks to get Friday tickets so they don't have to pay extra to get in to get their restaurant tickets.

Looking forward to seeing everyone again (and to collecting my giveaway blanket!)

Ted

hello

Hi friends

Thank you Ted for the 2018 roster ( so far)

It looks like I will have a few family members coming too as emergency insurance. I don't think I should be traveling alone

I probably won't be around on Friday
because of needing a dialysis treatment

I will be there on Thursday and Saturday and possibly a few races on Sunday

Do you think we can do the Annual Friday night gathering and go over Alabama?

Sure Bill, we're getting together Friday night as usual at the NHPLAY offices downtown to go over things for Saturday. Will be great to see you there, and whomever else from your family as well!

Possible spot for 2019?

Hi,

I posted this in a reply to Ted in another thread, but this might get better exposure over here. I had previously mentioned a location upstairs in the grandstand that has tables and is within close proximity to the top of the seating area for easy viewing of the races. This year, with the addition of the new "The Stretch" area that eliminated a bunch of cheap grandstand seats at the top of the stretch, the aforementioned area also got a makeover. For the past several years, NYRA had set up boutique shops that we usually never frequented. This year, they tore those out and built a new wall with several HDTV's and self-betting terminals. In addition, they added some betting windows to the far left right next to the new "The Stretch", and the small tables were replaced with larger tables big enough to accommodate multiple laptop computers. There are also outlets on some support columns, making it convenient to run a lead cord/power strip.

Here are some photos from Opening Day. Let me know what you guys think...

I won't be there in person but I am analyzing some of their beginning cards. I will be there in spirit, at least. Hope you all have fun

It has just been announced that the Hall of Fame is running a private tour of the Sheikh’s green tree stud behind the track. Cost is $20 and includes free admission to the museum. This is the first time in years that green tree has been open for a tour. It runs from 11-12:15 on the 18th.
