Thanks for your post Lt! I have only been playing for 7 months and still learning a lot but slowly improving, I still think to linear I'm sure. Today at Parx, R5 I had the 9 & 6 and hid the 5, your post made me go back and review further against corollaries that I track against 7F and decided to bet. Thank You for the win! Just been following your posts the last couple days, hoping there comes a day when I can identify the first 2 horses for win as well as you! Thanks again for sharing and helping us young maidens learn!

KMS we all started at the same place lost. Today we have this great site where folks can share ideas and more importantly ask questions. The only thing newer members need to remember is the only dumb question is the one that's not asked. And we also have RDSS,which I believe is the best program ever, to aid us. If I read your post correctly you are keeping records. That's great. By doing so you made a correct call and hit an $11 winner. Don't worry about some of the advanced things that I and other veteran members do. That will come later. Your task right now is to get the winner in your top 5 and of course a representative pl. As for contender selection there are several approaches that are employed by our members, I myself take the top 5 profit line and top 5 Bris prime power horses as my contenders. I know the winner will be in there 90% of the time[nothing gets 100%]. Others use the Hats' matchup approach while still others use the guidelines supplied by FTL. Pick the one that your are most comfortable with and stick with it. Don't go back and forth. You must be consistent in your. approach. Ok looking forward to see how you progress. Remember ask questions. You will get answers.

Thanks for the feedback Lt, I have been wanting to use the Profit Line info from TrackMaster but I cannot get the info to load. I only have the basic account for uploading PP's, do you have to pay extra for the PL info? I never have understood what you get when purchasing the graphics and chart for the extra cost? Bought some PP's that way but did not see the difference. I have just been using the top 5 BLBL horses and then reviewing the PP's for each to judge if I think they are a contender. That is what happened to the 5 horse today, I assumed they would be a non contender due to the latest poor lines. Poor performance in higher class races and then dropping back down always confuses me. I don't know how to interpret. I have read posts on "The Hat" method but admit I think about sometimes to look to see if certain horses have ever ran against certain fraction times. I have tossed some E's for that reason. I read a number of posts from Richie explaining the method and walking other users thru it. Worked on it for a couple weeks but probably was not focused enough. Your comment about sticking to one method makes sense. I have to determine what works best for me, I would like to try PL info, it seems like a reasonable approach. I don't know what FTL is either? I few questions in here, thanks for taking the time with me. KMS

Hi kms. FTL is a member of the group. If you go to the Library section scroll down and you will find an entire thread dedicated to his approach. The Hats approach is difficult to learn but fortunately, for us, he programmed the matchup into our later programs and it's in RDSS. Also the Doc went away from the visual matchup in favor of compounded ratings now in RDSS. The newer versions of RDSS contain both the PL & BRIS rankings. If you are entering every horse then you can take the top 5 bl/bl horses or the top 5 total energy horses, or the top 5 from the primary rankings screen. Make sure you eliminate from the bottom up.to get to the top 5. Most of the time they are the same horses but maybe in different rank order. All of them are depended on the paceline you select for each horse. I use the best of the last 3 perceptor rankings at a comparable surface and dist. I stay within 1 fur of todays' dist.

Hello Lt, That is pretty much what I have been doing using BLBL top 5 and then using auto line select with Preceptor, I have been logging race records for 3 months now and that started helping me over the last 2 months in my selections. I have been hitting 49% winners in my top 2 selections over my last 200 races I have handicapped with RDSS. I have been playing 5 tracks Parx, Turfway Park, Gulfstream, Aqueduct and Santa Anita. I'm trying to focus on getting to that 65% top 2, I struggle with races like today GP R3, presents a good overlay race I think, I picked the 2,1,5,6 as top contenders using preceptor auto for selecting lines. This knocks out the favorite(#3) as a non contender, ok but my records show Rx2 is pretty accurate and that has the #3 horse in top 2 contenders. But by all the BLBL screens #3 would be a non contender? Any advice? Thanks KMS
