Make and Send RAC. Files from RDSS snapshots

Here is a Step by Step procedure to make RAC files for Old Sartin 3 call format programs
like Energy Kgen Exdc Thoromation and others

These snapshots are from using RDSS1 If needed I will update it when RDSS2 has the RAC. option/. Beta testing RDSS2 does not export yet

The old Sartin 3 call programs need a .RAC flle

You need to have the .RAC files in the same folder that your Old Sartin Dos program is in Not your RDSS folders

You need to know were that folder is on your computer

I have all my Sartin Dos Progams in a folder on my C drive named
Oldgames

I have RDSS set up to send the RAC files to that folder
I will show that later

Here are the snap shots hope it works for you

These first 2 screens show what you should see when you click the export tab
The export box shows the File name its destination and file data
This is were you need to make sure that the RAC file RDSS is making is going to go to the
Sartin Dos program folder NOT RDSS

Now your

Ok now that you know the file name and were RDSS is sending it
and You have it going to your Dos Program folder
You can click ok on the export box and then open your Sartin Dos program

The menu screens all look the same basically
so just make sure you chose Load race manually

I have old the old programs and the select a race feature never works
on any of them so I always enter the file manua

Wow, thanks Bill for taking the time to make that tutorial! Export to 3 and 4 call RAC files for older software will be part of RDSS 2.0 Beta 2 (soon ...).

Mixing Sprint and Route Pacelines

Correct me if I am wrong since it has been some time since I did the export to the 3 call programs. My gut feeling would be not to do this if possible. Perhaps using the adjusted option would help here.

Also I think their was a problem when using shorter route distances such as a 8 and 8.5 furlongs to a longer route such as 9 furlongs because of the different starting points of call.

I have had better success with the older 3 call programs such as Energy when I did not mix sprint and route pacelines which I realize is not possible all of the time.

I believe that exporting a RAC file with a mix of sprint and route pacelines in it is no different from entering them by hand in. However the Energy or other programs equalize the distances, and whether an Adjust selection is required, is independent of whether you start off from an exported file or by manual entry. The data in the export file is the same raw call time and beaten length data you would enter by hand.
