Using the Matchup in Saturday's 8th race (SAR, of course), the field was narrowed down to only 2 horses- no need to use the computer with only 2 horses! One won, paying $50.50, the other placed, completing a $272 exacta. Yesterday I re-did the race just entering "reasonable" lines into Validator. Still got the winner, but not the place horse. Why am I not surprised?

Yes, nice hit, mentioned by a few others too:

I envy those who can accomplish the same thing consistently by the visual Matchup alone. Congratulations!

Wagercapper, if you're not using Val4, you should update your earlier Validator version - it is less accurate since the 2006 Trackmaster change to Speed Ratings (or update to RDSS, same thing)

Hi Ted, just wondering if you have any seats (2) left? Just found out I'm able to get up there for a 3 day weekend. Do you know if Bob is coming down? Look forward to meeting you! Best, Tom

Tom,

I haven't really been reserving seats for folks - it's first come, first served. After last year when we overbooked (or folks under-showed) I reserved a few less tables this year. And wouldn't you know - it seems like it will be a bumper crowd! However, we're generally pooling our tables with PaceAdvantage so there's probably always a spot to park, and sometimes other people just don't show up to claim their tables, so ...

I hope that doesn't discourage you from coming - it will be a pleasure to meet you. I haven't talked to Bob A in a little while now, which reminds me to do just that.

Looking forward to it, leaving in just over a week!

cheers,

Ted

Mike,

I knew that - and no worries! Many of us are members at both PaceandCap and PaceAdvantage - that's partly why we're pooling the tables.

When you meet Dave, buy him a drink, show him your research, give him a few tips on horses who look good in RDSS

I'll be there with Mum next Thursday morning - looking forward to seeing everyone!

And hoping your week gets better from here ...

cheers,

Ted
