Support a Horse Rescue Charity

This message was posted at Pace Advantage (http://www.paceadvantage.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=97705)

I support horse rescue operations in general, with proceeds from RDSS and from ADW commissions. This seems like a good one to me, and is actually just a request to Vote for them via Facebook to win a grant from another charity funding organization.

------------------------

Please Vote (Free) To Help Ex-Racehorses In Need

Hi there,

The charity I founded in 2008, Southern California Thoroughbred Rescue, which currently has 30 rescued ex-racehorses in its care is fighting a voting/popularity contest of charities to try to win a grant from Chase (bank) Community Giving.

There are three days of voting left; voting ends 11.59:59 eastern time on Wednesday 19th.

So far we have spent a week in the 20K grant territory (47-96th ranked charities). However we are small, and our support base is losing ground quickly. Today since 3am we have lost 5 positions already, falling from 80th to 85th.

We could still win a 10K grant (96-196 ranked charities) but it would be awful at this point after so much work in the last 11 days' of voting to lose that extra $10,000. That is a lot of money for our charity and represents a lot of horse feed and re-training expenses...

Can you help by voting (and sharing)? To vote you need either

a) a facebook account or
b) a chase bank account or
c) both

The link (which doesn't work for mobile devices) to our voting page via Facebook application is here:

http://tinyurl.com/8dgpxl6

and sometimes the application is slow and the page whites out before settling so please give it time. You have to find and click the "vote" button for it to count.

The link to vote via Chase (account holders) is here:

https://www.chase.com/online/Specia...m%3Fnptag%3DCCG

and you have to hit "vote now" and then enter Southern California Thoroughbred Rescue, then hit vote.

Thanks so much for any help you can offer. Cross posting to other racing sites would also be very much appreciated. To my knowledge, though can't confirm, we are the only racing charity currently in the running for a Chase grant.

Thanks again,
Caroline

Good to vote for anything that will help rescue horses.
Did you Canadians know we have a rescue farm here ? It's not far from where I live. If you are interested in knowing more about it the web page is http://www.equinenow.com/farm/sereni...ing_stable.htm
