Regarding the Preakness Stakes, I can post several examples where one might focus on: There is a previous article regarding using part of the Kentucky Derby pace line. The entire Derby pace line is not a good line to draw conclusions. Link: http://paceandcap.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9203 The fractions up to the "Mile" marker are useful to evaluate the pace line.
