Sad

I'm so sorry to hear this news

When I first started with the methodology in the mid-late 90's
I was only working races from "Philly"

I first started to notice on the Synthesis and or Validator program
PP'S Trainer "Lake, Scott"
It seemed like every winner was trained by some guy named Lake Scott
I finally heard it was Scott Lake, Then I started to notice
Lake, Scott horses were almost always ridden by Flores, Jose

I'm sure over the years I have seen a great percentage of
Jose Flores 4650 career wins

RIP
my very first known jockey
Jose Flores

As of last night (3/20) Jose Flores was still on life support and in critical condition. I don't have any more information on what his prospects are, though it sounds dire.

http://www.thoroughbreddailynews.com...ng-parx-spill/

Quote:
Jose Luis Flores, the all-time leading money-earning jockey at Parx Racing and the former Philadelphia Park, remains hospitalized and in a coma with a grim prognosis as of noon Tuesday after suffering traumatic head and spine injuries in a spill at the Bensalem, Pennsylvania, track in the ninth race Mar. 19.

“He’s on life support and his wife is waiting for some family members to arrive from Florida to see him,” Sam Elliott, the Parx director of racing, told TDN via phone. “Then they’ll make the decision to do whatever they’re going to do. As of now, he’s still with us.”

Morning folks. I just received an e mail from a very reliable source at Parx that it looks like the slim hope they were holding onto has appeared to have faded. All we can do now is pray for a miracle. If I hear more I'll update everyone.

Jockey Jose Flores passed away early this morning, succumbing to his injuries suffered in Monday's race at PARX.

Condolences to his family and to those who he inspired by his passion in this sport.
