My goal before I check off this planet is to teach or preach what I have learned in this game for over 50 years. And one thing I have learned is not to gauge horses by final time which is what speed ratings do. It's been proven time and again that horses with last out lower speed ratings beat horses with higher speed ratings. All a high rating guarantees is that the horse will be a short price next out, just like a last out win does also. Never have, never will. Point two, some people refuse to learn, some are incapable of learning but most are open to new ideas. Point 3: Lasix is a performance enhancer just like steroids are for ballplayers. It's banned in professional sports and should be banned once again for race horses. Look, even with a level playing field these trainers continually turn to other drugs to gain an edge just to win a race until they get caught like Asmussen recently. Lasix is probably the single most reason why breakdowns are rampart in the sport today. In the old days a horse would bleed during the race and basically stop running. If you go back in time and check when California horses started using lasix in the eighties you'll see that for the most part when they shipped east to Ky or Ny, those horses would hardly ever win. I say no Lasix or Bute 3 days before race time. If you think I'm wrong, prove it to me!

Hey Mitch
I bet $200 win on Maximum Security. That was easy money. No one in that field was in his class. I doubt he broke a sweat. |

BIG CONGRATS Scott, yes it was an easy race. It really came down to only two horses.
With horses a player has to view races from an unbias point and objectively. You can't fall in love with horses because they won't love you back. Not sure who said that or I would give credit where credit is due. Bottom line is going against the best horse because you hate it is not a winning strategy. At a seminar Tom Brohammer was asked who can beat the favorite in a race that was under discussion. Brohammer asked the questionnaire; " Who is the best horse in the race?" He answered the favorite to which Tom replied; "Than why are you trying to beat it? Mitch44 |

Ah Mitch the 1993 Sar seminar and all us bright lights thinking we knew what the heck we were doing. And then Tom shot us down big time. But we learned a lot that day and over the yrs from our great teachers.

I think Omar had to go off topic since he was responding to check marks vicious off topic personal attack. It might be wise to shut the thread down or delete a couple of the posts.

What vicious attack was that Charlie?. All I saw was a member voicing their opinion in response to Omars' statement.Whether it's correct or not is for members to determine.

Hi Tim: you are probably right. It just seemed to me like one member attacking another in unduly harsh terms.
