Woodbine (New Tapeta)
I know we have an excellent group of Pace and Cap members that play Woodbine, and I was hoping you could fill me in on any noticeable track bias with the new Tapeta surface?
I have only handicapped a few races so I will be watching a lot of the previous races, but any information you may have will be much appreciated. Thanks, Mike |

I have not started playing Woodbine yet this season, I figure to start in another week or two.
I am starting to put together a Brohamer type track profile. I just finished April. Out of 82 sprints, I show 24 "E" winners, 18 "EP", 14 "P", and 26 "S". That "S" number might too high to be representative long term, because a lot of them were in 6 or 7 horse fields where it is a lot easier to come from 4 or 5 lengths off the pace than if you have a bigger herd in front of you. Only 6 routes in April, too early to tell. |

The Woodbine web site has a round table discussion with a number of handicappers about their experiences with Tapeta. I posted this in another thread a while back, but it may have gotten buried. Here it is again:

In May so far, another 31 sprints with 8 "E", 1 "EP", 11 "P", and 11 "S" winners. While April had a preponderance of 5f and 5 1/2f sprints, May was mostly 6f, 6 1/2f, and 7f. |
