anatomy of an Alabama pick-3 - Pace and Cap

This came at the end of a tough 4 days of picks in the paper. When handicapping for the paper, I don’t have the use of PL and BPP.

First is the Alabama Stakes, our traditonal feature race at Paceandcap weekend. The 5 looks like a standout. Notice almost all the ratings are in the top 3. In the paper I used the 5-2-4. 5 won easily with the 4 second. The 4 is tied with the 5 for the best VDCxt up is Race 10. In the paper I used 1-2-5. These three horses all have ratings in the top 3 except for csr. The 5 won followed by 1 and 2.

Last race in the sequence was the last race of the day. In the paper I used 4-6-10. The 10 won nosing out the 4 at the wire. Notice all the 1’s for the third choice and who is second in both BL/BL and VDC.

3 wins, 2DD, 3 ex, 1 tri and a whopping pk-3
