West Coast racing

Hello Soc Cal racing fans

Well, it has been a tough year for us. Santa Anita, The great race place has been hurt by so many horses fatalities, The changes in medication rules and whip rules have cause tiny fields, As trainers and jockeys fled for more stable
racing conditions.
The great Santa Anita is reduced to just 3 days a week racing.

Let's hope that thing continue to get better at SA.

Del Mar is coming soon Let us hope that things will be as good as always

The breeder's cup will also help restore SA and Socal racing

SoCal Notations

Hello Ted or anyone who knows

SoCal racing tends to have the most workout notations

I see this one very often as a positive indicator of a good effort

SCW1

Does SCW1 mean a slow consistent work since the last race?
It looks like it.

For example, a horse races 17 days ago it had a good 4 or 5-furlong
race since the last race, The race was not necessarily fast or slow just that it was within the last recent race.

I also see SCW2 and SCW3 but I am not sure of the meaning,
Can you help me ?

Yes hoping that Del Mar can be better than the things that have happened at Santa Anita. I am hoping that possibly in the future that Del Mar can be the bigger track that Santa Anita. Just my opinion.

Bill, as Charlie notes, SCW means Special Condition Workout, and is documented in the RDSS FAQs, under Workout Patterns, here:
http://paceandcap.com/forums/showpos...4&postcount=13

I updated what was there before to more clearly break out the 3 types of SCW, just for you .

Ted

examples

Hello Bob
About cleaning them up.
I will see what I can do about them, In the meantime, Here are 3 examples of each notation. Each of these nine horses has either an SCW1,SCW2 or SCW3.
They are all from Santa Anita, I track the winner of every race every day,
So I picked these 9 horses because they all won the race

Here are the 3 SCW1 horses
