How's your knowledge of the pimlico track. Mine is nil. If it rains for 2 days solid it may be a factor. If it just rains the day of the race
may not have much impact as long as the track is sealed.

2" in an hour is a whole lot of rain. My early long shot choice to be in the money. #10. We"ll see how he likes eating mud.

Here is my take for the win of the Preakness :

3-Nyquist wins, but has to actually exert himself for a change

5-Exaggerator places or shows, he is a hell of a horse that had the bad luck to be born the same year as Nyquist

11-Stradivari places or shows, he comes up the fastest on my RDSS2

The rest of the crowd : just doesn't have the class and/or stamina to go this fast this far.

Unless the track is just soupy, I don't think the rain will effect the outcome.

Dan

Ty Dan I believe you have it right I'll be using abiding star , Lani and collected for the super while boxing the next triple crown winner Nyquist with Exaggerator and Stradivari in the perfecta box and tri box. And where of to the Belmont! Good luck Dan and GOD Bless

Here is my take:

Pace:: 46.05 1:10.80 1:36.40

1. Cherry Wine (S)_seen fast pace last out in a race that favored closer but looking for it to be quick up front so may get on the ticket?

2. Uncle Lino_(EP)_needs to press in this race, to close to Candy Boy in the SA Derby, freshener in between could be the upset special?

3. Nyquist¬_(EP) Race sets up very nicely- the one to beat!

4. Awesome Speed_(EP)_ pace should be too quick to contend---Out

5. Exaggerator (S)_ needs to run his race and maybe gets there this time?

6. Lani (S)_ really can't get a good read, upfront looks to be more contentious but I don't see it—Out

7. Collected¬_(EP)_ not sure he can take the heat Upfront-Out

8. Laoban_(E)_ should push the pace and that’s about it-Out

9. Abiding Star (E)_ looks like a need to lead type and may get there but others will be to close—Out

10. Fellowship (S)_ seen very fast pace last out and couldn’t get there against lesser—Out

11. Stradivari (EP)_ this trip won't be as easy as the last—Out

My Picks_3-5-2-1

Long Short_ 2

good post Meo.
Uncle lino has run twice against your projected pace and faded both times. might figure in the super. always liked exaggerator, but has to run a little closer to the pace I think. I still think fellowship is going to play a part, just not sure how big. Last race made a move off a 1:08 second call/ trainer switch .

Good luck

Mowens33 - thanks for the post I liked U. Lino from strat wasn't sure if the Class would hurt and if mud would present a problem. Will use in tri / super though.
