12-2-9-4--5

12 L 1 2 L 2, 9 L 2,4 L 2, 5 L 1 Picked these lines using What Bill put up.

12 has never lost
2 maybe better shorter and may have peaked last year
9 improving and last best, should like distance.
4 real speed at shorter and rates, a danger
5 on improve

Completely overlooked place bet so only had the ex. Won't complain because when the inquiry sign came on I thought he might come down.

Just took a look at this race this morning. Glad to see that amongst those that eyed the 11, was lostandwon, one of the Match4$ champs from last year. This race set up perfectly for raw matching and a win/place bet yielded 300%, but very close to a lot more. Congratulations to all that had him.

Also congratulations to Mark Casse for finally getting the big win in his third season from Classic Empire. Casse sometimes boards race horses at the horse farm next to me. I occasionally see his horse vans with "Casse Racing" drive by and I wonder what great horses might be aboard. I doubt Classic who is now likely heading to the Derby was next door at any time but who knows...

Unfortunately, I did not get to read all the post before I posted, I may have had that tri. The cappers on this post are too good not to consider all thoughts of how the race may run.

Lesson learned!

Mike that goes for you too, I always pay attention
Just before the race I jumped up and made a 2-6 exacta bet

Thing is am I satisfied with my line selection Y - N ?
Were the 12, 9 ,and 4 true contenders Y - N ?
This really are the reasons I look back

Good Skill

It is nice when things work out.

It’s nice when they work out even though I blew the race setup. The rabbit (#1) never even looked at the lead & the 5 ran faster up front than it ever had in its life. Great race to watch tho. I put the 11 in my horse races now app and will be tracking him.

Beyer Adjusted his speed rating for the Sunland Derby 3 weeks later

I don't understand the speed rating assigned to the Sunland Derby, but "it is what it is...."

I got drawn into this race because of the fast pace of the Sunland Derby and Irap came out of that particular race to wire the Blue Grass Stakes last week over the pre-Derby favorite McCraken....Maybe Irap paired up before the Blue Grass; nevertheless Irap got away with a 48.0 first fraction and wired the field at 31 to 1 last week....

Good skills
Quote from the DRF
"The winning Beyer Speed Figure of the Sunland Derby, won by Hence, has been adjusted to 97 from its original 93, according to Andrew Beyer. Irap and Conquest Mo Money, second in the Arkansas Derby, both exited the Sunland Derby."
