Nice call on the 3 in r2. That one was a classic Richie Mathie LS play. A non contender who ranked in the top 5 of both csr[4th] and vdc{3rd] plus strong corollary support and 70-1.

A great betting day but slightly less so as a prognosticator of equine abilities.

The 5 LS selections went off at the following odds, respectively: 79-1, 17-1, 44-1, 4-1 (huh?), 16-1.

FWIW, I bet $2 across the board on all of them as soon as I entered the track. I did not want anything to influence my betting decision at the time of the race. It was good that I did too.

LS results: r2 horse paid 51.40 and 26.40; r4 11.80 and 6.10; r6 11.40; r7 last at 4-1 ha ha ha; r11 5th but beaten 10 lengths or so.

Total amount bet $30.00. Return $107.10.

r7 exacta box returned $38.60

r10 I did bet the 8-1 exacta box and the .50 trifecta box and they returned $38.20 and $61.50.

Parx is a great betting track but one must be prepared to take a beating often so never give up. Also, one must believe in their work because longshots outrun their odds on a regular basis, more so than at many other racetracks. And many times these longshots are not crazy guesses; they often show a signal in a recent race or so.

Finally, the exacta bet is the best money making bet at Parx, bar none.

I concentrate and bet accordingly the exacta. It's been that way for the almost 30 years I have lived here and played at Philly. Don't overlook the exacta bet!

Since I primarily play to beat the favorites I usually play trifecta and s-fecta for the minimum, just in case chaos rules and the favorite is off the board. I never go crazy so when I'm wrong it doesn't kill me. Thanks and good luck to everyone, every day.
