Question for Thoromation Users
Hello everybody,
I've been reading a article in Follow Up #41 by former editor Spencer Toner on using the animated Thoromation screen to help eliminate non contenders. He discusses some advice that Teaching Members Glen Connolly and Tom Brohamer about watching the Animated Screen and pausing it at appropriate moments to find horses that can't keep up at key points of the race and then scratching them. The problem is I can't slow down or pause the Animation Screen. The horses blitz across the screen and end in the projected order of finish before I can see anything. Can any Thoromation users tell me how to slow down the animation and/or pause it during animation so I can try this? Thanks in advance for any counsel offered. Knight |

Hi Knight,
I struggled with that problem too for a long time.I tried pressing a certaiin key and it slowed down the horses a little bit but you cannot really pause it .I saw Tom Brohamer once put a white tape in his laptop screen to see where a horse will be at certain point.Maybe some users like Bill V will be able to answer this. This is why i like Energy 2 better. It didn't have the bells and whistles of Thoromation, but it was simpler but not too simple.Just remember that we will be wrong most of the time. That's why we look for a price to make it worthwhile on the times we are right. slow down
Hello
If you have a pause button that will stop the animated horses as they run. I don't think newer models of labtops have pause buttons anymore. If not what you can do is push Control and F11 to slow down dos box Make sure you push control F12 to reset the speed Good Skill Bill |

Hi Ray and Bill
Thanks very much for the helpful replies. One question-I have a couple of older refurbished laptops that still run Windows 98 (originally bought to practice with older hand-entry programs). Do you think those key commands will also work on older computers? |

2 adjust
Hi Bill,
On some of the older programs, if I choose the 2 adjust, it won’t go to the next screen, but rather repeat the adjustment option screen again until I select 1. Any particular reason that this would be? |
