Question Comparing energy expenditure to RDSS readouts

Hi.
Ted might the one to give me the most appropriate answer to this question... unless someone else feels totally confident to take this task:
I just started reading the "red manual" because someone mentioned it in a recent post. On page 5, there is "winning energy" for Belmont Park (my home track) that I am trying to compare to my RDSS readouts. I don't find anything closely related in my RDSS energy screen. Am I looking at the wrong screen, or are the figures in the "red manual" on a different scale?
Thanks for your answer.
Paul

Paul:
Just for starters the Red Manual was published years ago, so I would be really surprised to find the same info relevant today.

Secondly, you are showing a turf race and the info for the profile you represented was for 1-1/16 miles on the dirt (it looks like), so you really cannot compare the info.

The info is expressed in fps, feet per second, so the velocity screen is where you need to start when you finally get orientated properly.

Also, you need to read in the Red Manual to see if the profile data was derived from the charts for the race or from someone's actual line selections. Trust me there will be a difference.

Perhaps the most expeditious way to explore this, without doing your own distance profile data is to ask the other members if they have a current Belmont profile showing the data you need.

Regards,

POR POH tabs

Hi Paul

You can find adjusted Feet Per Second and Energy percentages
on the Pace of race and pace of horse tabs
You wont find the percent early numbers they show in the red manual on RDSS
but you will see the percent medium number which are basically the same numbers but in an improved formula. they are also on the energy tab.
You can model these % Med numbers rather than percent early
