3 didn't do much...
4 took it almost wire to wire, and 1 finished 2nd. I had 3 over 4,5,8 so no cashing on this one |

Hello
Looks like the 3 has form issues, after the 253 day layoff. Also a valid excuse from the pace line manual is first try over new track in the current meet . 2 for 32 for this Socal 8 claimer But first a stop / trip to GG now to PM . |

This is a turf angle, not dirt

I should have stressed that it was FAR more effective on the turf as FORM CYCLES on dirt must be evaluated within the framework of the 2 best lines as these cycles are less apparent, and more often repeated on the turf.
Also Why bet such a HUGE underlay at an "after the fact" race course like Portland? The majority of horses there could not win at either Hastings or Emerald. It has been historically a meet to get the horsemen who missed all season to pay for their feed bills over the winter.

Went back to check on that horse. AT ONE TIME (Santa Anita and Del Mar) he was the fastest out of the gate and earlier by a wide margin. He still did qualify as two lines better than the field HOWEVER, he had run against progressively SLOWER halves his last three and did not run INTO them as much each time, so the current race cycle said BACKWARDS as the last three halves were from more recent backwards 46.2, 45.95, 44.77. He was getting challenged with both less ferocity and was not returning as effectively. When horses get earlier in response to the same pace of race they are going off form. Add to that declining total energy and it is a cinch they will rarely do well TODAY.
Best races were 8/30/15 Del Mar and 12/30/15, 1/07/16 and 1/28/16 all at Anita and had declines significantly from there. 8 6 4 and 1 had better out of the gate time this past contest and 1 4 3 were the predicted later movers but the current form cycle sort of nixed that 3......... Recall that TURFERS do not have the set form cycles that dirt horses have so that two lines can be reproduced much easier than a dirt performer. This one had fallen on very hard times as compared with just a year earlier and add the layoff and there sounds to be some real physical problems about.
