that's great work on the Wood Memorial. 2,8,11 was the order of finish, and the tri paid $381.

Out of curiosity, where would you have KID CRUZ post position#1 ranked if he stayed in?

knabstr,

Here was my Wood readout. With my 20/20 hindsight glasses, I see clearly now that I should have rated the #2 higher than the #5 (I bet an Exacta Box 8-11-5)

Since you ask, here's the RDSS BL/BL screen if the #1 KID CRUZ were running. Not totally inspirational ...

Unadjusted or adjusted?

Ted..

Out of curiosity...when one is looking at the analysis screen, is this the adjusted screen or with the original pace lines as is?

Also, the top of your screen shows the Wood at 8.5 furlongs whereas the Wood is at 9 furlongs....

Thanks in advance...

Since I am asking questions...is there a vital factors read outs in Rdss?

Hi LS,

This screen is the 'Bottom Line/Betting Line or BL/BL' screen - a sort of Summary screen showing all the 'vital factors' which are components of or tangential to the Line Score / Odds Line. All the factor ranks shown are derived from adjusted times (adjusted by a Daily Track Variant and Inter-Track Variant), not raw times or segments.

Normally, race times are also projected to today's distance, but as you point out, I calculated this race as if it were 8.5 furlongs instead of the actual 9 furlongs. Because of the abundance of Early Speed horses (6 out of 9, by my reckoning, with 26 Quirin Speed Points between them!), I wanted to do a raw time Projected Pace matchup to see which of the Earlies were throw-outs and which ones I needed to analyse further by the energy-based readouts. But I couldn't do that with all the horses having run 8.x furlong races and today's race being 9f (because the call times did not line up). So I just changed the distance to 8.5 f so I could use that tool.

That analysis then told me the race 'might' run Other Than Early, but also that the 2 best Earlies (#8 and #11) could not be counted out. The 2 best OTE's were: #2 and #5.

BTW, only 1 horse had ever run 9f before - guess who - #2 Wicked Strong, the winner (and finished very well, and at AQU!).

Today:

Bet: $54
Ret: $0
Net: -$54

Cumulative: -$207

A low priced day, except for Race 9 (sort of). Bet against the likely fave in Race 8 and lost. Even so, I would only have broken even today.

Possibly the wrong day for AQU P4's ...

No worries - onwards!

Ted

April 18, 2014 AQU - Late Pick4

.50 -- 6-4-5 / 7-8-6 / 3-10-5-2 / 4-8 = $36
.50 -- 6-4-5 / 7-8 / 3-10-5 / 4-8 = $18

Total = $54
