Saratoga

Just got home from first weekend. No more english pub, no more carvel, cheaper beer, hot dog value meals. I am now handicapping for the Saratoga Special-free paper published by the Clancy brothers-showed profit for opening weekend.Looking forward to seeing everyone on Alabama weekend.

Hi wagercapper,

Looking forward to meeting you! Did you ever hook up with Bert Mayne? If so, please let him know about our get together. And bring your guitar!

cheers,

Ted

Charlie,

Good stuff! What is/was 'carvel'? Any horses running this year? Looking forward to seeing you and Missy again.

Met a lifelong friend of Burt's about a year ago during a gig in Saratoga. I forget his name, but he played a song that Burt had written. All I know is that he's still singing, playing guitar, writing songs & preachin'. I have 3 other things I've been invited to that same weekend, all of them out of town. I'd rather go to Saratoga as long as those longshots keep jumping into the winner's circle!

The Horse Runs The Race!

My wife & I design T-Shirts as part of her business. Last year I wore this one at Saratoga. It sports one of Doc's favorite sayings: "The Horse runs the Race",
(as opposed to the Jockey, trainer, hot dog vendor, or the finish line judge's mother-in-law). I'd like to get an idea if anyone is interested in this. The color can be varied, but I need to sell at least 12 or else it becomes a (money) losing endeavour. They'll go for about $20. I've seen similar items go as high as $35, but that's ridiculous. Thanx, see you at SAR if you're going.

Bert Mayne?
That would be GREAT to see him again.
Of all the PIRCO guys, he was my maim man - he shared Finger Lakes with me, so I always paid attention to his talks.

He an Mikey did an awesome Saturday workshop in Albany that I will never forget. I taped it, but the quality is poor at best.
