Baffert owns this race lately

Dads look

Here is my dads look

Bill, this is my TPR 7-6-4-5-3-2-1 and BL 7--6-4-5-3-2-1
My line choices are 1(1)( #2(3) #3(2) #4(1) #5(1) #6(1) #7(1)
What do you get?
Good luck on the day.
Love Dad

My Dad tends to use class of race as a paceline selection method
and plays superfectas so he includes all the horses

This race via matchup

Power Broker is pace of race: 23.1-46.3-111.1-148 (times are in fifths-last race extended to 9F +6.2 + 141.3 = 148.0)

PB fought for early in last, could get challenged by the 2 and 5 at 6f point, but PB is faster than 2; PM the 5 can get lead at 6f, but mile time and finish time look like he cannot power past PB. I think those two lock horns Golden Soul wins. Verrazano can't press off recent at this pace; he might press off one turn mile at GP earlier this year, but if that happens then you have the 2, 4, 5 and 7 all at each others necks around 6f - 7 f mark in this race.

I went back to the Derby chart for Golden Soul info. If PB withstands the pace my exacta is GS and PB.

Good handicapping.

Haskell analysis

Verrazano-last paceline..this one got a huge breather with the soft early fractions which enabled him to run that great sustained fraction
Oxbow- chose Preakness paceline…used all the fractions up to the mile marker as prescribed by the “Hat”
Lukas is training this one differently, as this one has only one published workout and has been jogging clockwise on his “two-minute lick”.
Golden Soul-surprised many in the Kentucky Derby by running second to Orb. At first, this gave me the impression that this race is a prep race for the Travers. But I hate assuming especially in a $million dollar Grade 1 race.
Power Broker- last paceline…ranks a cut below the true Grade 1 competitors….

My two major contenders are Golden Soul and Verrazano.

Good Skills

Recap

Thanks Lone Speed Bill L. and Dad for jumping in
Congrats to Verrazano

Lone Speed, I like how you commented on you pace line choices.

I would like to do the same

Horse 1 Vyjack... I used line 3 a grade 1 plus line (113) I excused the Derby and 12 furlong Belmont.

Horse 2 Pick of The litter.. I should have not used a line. He only has a MS win and its last line is a plus grade 3 race but on the Kee Poly.

Horse 3 Golden Soul Looks like Doc was correct about the derby pace lines
No Line

Horse 4 Power Broker.. I used Line 1. Its a recent plus pace line. I had questions about its graded stakes ability as a 3 year old.

Horse 5 Oxbox... I used the Preakness Grade 1 plus line. I excused the Belmont 12 furlong distance.

Horse 6 Micro Manage.. I did not enter a pace line. It shows no plus graded stakes pacelines ( but Joe Bravo on his home track !)

Horse 7 Verrazano .... I used line 3. The reason I did not use line 1 ?
I normally would have used it because its a grade 3 plus pace line.
However, I watched that race live on June 16th. It really was just a
prep public work out as its .40 odds show. I excused the Derby line and used Line 3. Line 1 shows Verrazano was in back in form. Line 3 is because of the competition level.
