Loading older Sartin programs

Hello everybody,

I have some old original Sartin software like KGEN. Because I have no floppy disk drive in my new computer a friend copied them to my computer via usb.
When I double click on the exe file, I get a security error.
Can anybody help me ? I have vista as operating system.

Thanks...

Greetings

Security

Hi Tim
the programs have a feature buit in that limits the number of times they can be copied and opened.
To bypass this security system you need to run a few fixes and programs that disable these blocks

send my a PM and I will send them to you

Security Error Prevents Opening/Loading Synthesis

Hello,

I apologize for dredging up an old topic, but I came across the same security error that the thread's author encountered despite using Sartin's Synthesis for years without a problem.

Whether I try to run Synthesis from its original floppy disk or its location on the C: drive, I encounter "Security Error 7043-41400-01e3" and a screen just like the above screenshot.

Are those fixes and programs still available to disable the blocks, or is there another work-around I may use?

Regards,

Clark

Hey jma1143:
I don't have a solution for you......however, I do have a question.
Do you download direct from Trackmaster ? ....If so, can you share the process you use to create the "exe" that Synthesis can open the PP's?
I have Synthesis; It will open the "exe" created by the download in RDSS. After loading the selected race pen0512r I can select Conditions or Entries but when I select "Pacelines" I get an error message "ERROR DBFNTX/1021 Data Width error"!
Any suggestions will be apreciated.
Thanks
Ken

FWIW, I have had various reports regarding versions of Synthesis and the file exported by RDSS.

Synthesis SMT apparently can use the exported RDSS file. Other Synthesis versions give the error message you describe. The reason is because the other Synthesis versions are checking for a component file in the distributed EXE from TrackMaster TMPP version which is absent in the RDSS version (that component was not needed by Validator or Speculator, which were the basis of of RDSS).

For other versions of Synthesis, you have to download the TMPP format file directly from TrackMaster, or use a manual input version. Even if you do download the TMPP, beware how Synthesis makes use of adjustments provided in the TrackMaster file. Val and Spec were updated to compensate for a 2006 change in Speed Rating by Equibase/TrackMaster, but Synthesis was not.

I don't have a solution to the copy protection message mentioned.

cheers,

Ted
