Pattern recognition

This was posted on Facebook by Mark Cramer. I thought it was too interesting not to repost.

Amazing Longshot story. Jack O'boy, trained by the only American trainer in France, Gina Rarick, won a race at 1 mile at Saint-Cloud on 29 March 2021, at a whopping 70/1. I've written about horses that return to the scene of a great longshot triumph (horse for course). Well Jack O'boy returned to Saint-Cloud, same distance, on 26 Nov, and went off at 75/1. As in his previous Saint-Cloud win, Jack O'boy had finished 9th in his prior race. And now he won AGAIN. How's that for a pattern match? Bravo Gina!

I watched that race, and do follow French racing from time to time. Surprised everyone (except the horse, perhaps ).

Was odd to see the horses swing to the grandstand (outside) portion of the turf course after rounding the far turn, instead of sticking to the inner rail like we usually see. Not sure why.

Interesting to see Mark Cramer still commenting on racing events!

He was a guest speaker at a Sartin seminar in Baltimore, in 92? 93?

Quite a character! Doc said he was not a mainstream guy, he wasn't even in the same river as everyone else.

That night, at the bar, sitting at the table, were Doc, Hat, Brohamer, Mark, Tom Ainslie. Not to be Blasphemous, but someone should really do a painting, ala The Last Supper, but instead of goblets, everyone has a Sharp 360 in front of them.
