Net Neutrality?
Has anyone noticed how slow Google and RDSS's Google Site Search are to come up? This morning it took 32 seconds to bring up Google with my ISP Charter and I'm paying for a fast connection.
Yesterday I was doing research on the Form Cycle symbols in the Paceline Manual (yes, I too am reading Bill Lyster's extraordinary compilation of FTL's posts) and I didn't think the RDSS Google Site Search would ever come up. Firefox is even timing out it's taking so long. Charter and Google are business rivals and I wonder if Charter has begun slowing down access to all things Google. Back in Nashville I have Comcast as my ISP and I wonder what I'll experience when I get return. Comcast and Google are bitter adversaries and are involved in multiple lawsuits over Google's Fiber Optic cable business. |

The old guy can still get it done but after about three runs like this, I need the hot tub and a nap.

Back in Nashville and the speed difference between Charter and Comcast when loading a Google page is striking. Apparently, Comcast isn't throttling access to Google yet while Charter has both hands on its throat. If I were a suspicious person, I would suspect that Comcast's lawyers have told them don't do it because of all the pending litigation. Not that it really matters. This is the new reality. Soon your ISP will force you to go where they want you to go by slowing down access to everything else.
