Gide lines for the derby

Can anybody tell me what FOLLOW UP has Doc talking about the guidelines for
Winning the Derby . Thank Stormbringer

Only guide I can remember is that he thought since the Derby was such an OUTLIER, that it's pace line should not be use for subsequent races, particularly in the rest of the Triple Crown
