The distance is 1 mile on the main track,

There is lots of early speed

There is some early speed alright including one that never seems to lose. Only came up with 2 contenders so they will be the bets. Both OTE.

# 1 L 2 Ukn. Factor, only one route and won, top unknown, clm. Two back and since 2 wins from B on & trainer, attractive odds m/l 12-1
# 2 L 1 Unk. factor one of three stretching out to a mile in here, clm. 3 back and improved horse ,only 1 race at the dis.
# 3 L 1 proven dirt router , no knocks last was best
# 4 L 5 Unk. Factor, tries dirt again, has 1 win on a fast track but not at the distance, a better turf horse than dirt. Many tries at 8F and no wins, probably best at 7F on turf.
# # 5 L proven dirt with 2 wins at the dis., no knocks
# 6 L 1 unk. Factor, stretch out & been racing on Poly, has 2 wins on dirt, last was best at 7F, has failed twice at 8F
# 7 L 4 Unk. Factor, a poly & turf horse that is back to dirt today, 8 for 16 at the distance with only I win of 7 on dirt and at much lower class than this but has improved since then. A NTL that has to overcome post 7. The speed of the race and can rate, not much to challenge her in here. If gets the lead won’t get any kickback and may win however is going up in class. M/l of 5-1 but will probably go down.
5 of 7 are unknown factors making the race unplayable.

I’ll call it 3-5-6 & check the odds. A very small bet here in a risky race. This risky I won’t even look at a DD as I can’t see a big payoff even with all the unk. factors. Good practice for a contest that about it and a learning experience. Probably put $2 win on 3 & 5 but will look at odds.

I put $2 to win on # 6 who was 8-1 as the 3 & 5 were bet down, 6 was declared a non-starter after the race so I got my $2 back . ha ha ha I love this game.

A good part of the speed was scratched out of the race with the 4. The 4 was needed to counter the 7. So the complexion changed from when we first looked. I don't think any of us would have seen the race the same way with the scratch.
